The J-Film Pow-Wow comes to you via UK publisher Intellect Books

If you're a regular reader of the J-Film Pow-Wow you'll have seen the ad in the upper right corner of the blog for "World Film Locations" Tokyo" edited by myself and not only featuring J-Film Pow-Wow writers Eric Evans, Marc Saint-Cyr and Matthew Hardstaff, but also such folks as Midnight Eye's Tom Mes, The Japan Society New York's Samuel Jamier and Università Ca' Foscari Venezia Prof. Roberta Novielli, amongst many others. The book was delayed a bit from its original August 15th release date, but now comes some very good news from our publisher Intellect Books. The book is now available through Amazon.co.uk and will be available very shortly via Amazon.com. It's a great read for film lovers visiting Japan's capital, so make sure to pick it up!

In related news, fans of Japanese film can expect another great title from Intellect Books in the coming months. Many of you may already own a copy of "The Directory of World Cinema: Japan" edited by John Berra. Like "World Film Locations: Tokyo" it features the work of J-Film Pow-Wow writers Marc Saint-Cyr, Matthew Hardstaff and Bob Turnbull. Now Intellect Books has announced an second volume to this book. "The Directory of World Cinema: Japan, Vol. 2" (above right) will bring us even more reviews and essays on some of the great classic and contemporary films from Japan, plus it features a special spotlight essay on The J-Film Pow-Wow by your truly! "The Directory of World Cinema: Japan, Vol. 2" is due out in January of 2012, and you can read more about it here. A possible Christmas gift for the Japanese film fan in your house...?
