Another remake for Grave of the Fireflies?

Here's an interesting piece of news on the remake front: Nicholas Rucka is reporting that "Hotaru no Haka (Grave of the Fireflies)" is coming to the big screen in a live-action adaptation. The semi-autobiographical novel written by Akiyuki Nosaka tells the story of Seita and Setsuko, brother and sister who after being orphaned during WW2 must fight against heartless relatives, firebombings and starvation to stay together. It was most famously adapted by Isao Takahata in his 1988 animated film, one of the most heartbreaking works of art you will ever see. It was remade in 2005 by director Toya Sato for an NTV Japan television drama to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the end of the war.

The new adapation is set for release in japanese theatres on July 5th. You can find a site for the film here: http://www.hotarunohaka.jp/
