Is that a swim cap on your head or are you just glad to see me?

First we had word of Noboru Iguchi shooting "Hajirai Machine Girl", a low-budget short that will be included on the Japanese DVD release of his wildly successful splatterfest "The Machine Girl" and now word comes of another gore-loving director giving his film the same treatment.

Special effects mad genius Yoshihiro Nishimura is currently shooting his own short "prequel" to his equally successful blood soaked adventure "Tokyo Gore Police" that will also accompany the Japanese DVD release of the film. Grady Hendrix at Kaiju Shakedown pointed the way to Nishimura's blog where he's posted a whack of stills from the short, including this lovely young lady whose head gear is decidely... um... phallic.

For those of you who haven't seen "Tokyo Gore Police" it tells the story of a female cop, played by Eihi Shiina who must battle it out against mutants who when injured can manipulate the wound into any form they want. It's pretty grisly, but tongue-in-cheek stuff and you can check out even more behind the scenes stills of what happens to unregistered gaijin in Nishimura's future Tokyo over at AltJapan.

In keeping with the bad jokes...that's no lady! That's actually Sayoko Nakoshi, the talented co-screenwriter of the original TOKYO GORE POLICE. She also appears in TGP as one of the dancers in the club scene, I think the one with the penis nose. I'm sensing a trend.
