The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences hosts summer long anime exhibit

by Chris MaGee

Here's a news story with a tangential link to my recent trip to Frankfurt and the 9th Annual Nippon Connection Film Festival. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will be hosting an exhibition in Beverly Hills titled "Anime! High Art - Pop Culture" between May 15th and August 23rd. The exhibition, which consists of nearly 400 animation cels, film clips and character designs, will cover the history of anime from its early roots up to its present day international popularity. Now here's the Frankfurt connection. The exhibition was developed in partnership with The Deutsches Filmmuseum, Frankfurt am Main... the same placer that hosted the Nippon Retro programme at this year's Nippon Connection Film Festival. Small world...

So if you're a fan of anything between "Pokemon" to "Princess Mononoke" then make sure to check out all the details on "Anime! High Art - Pop Culture" here. Thanks to Anime News Netowrk
