Ultraman mothballed... again!

Most folks in the Toronto area will tell you that their first exposure to Japanese films of any kind was through watching the kaiju monster movies, early anime shows like "Battle of the Planets", and re-runs of "Ultraman" on WUTV Buffalo 29 everyday after school. All I have to say is, god bless those Buffalonians!

So, here's an amusing little article by Edan Corkill that's been posted over at The Japan Times. Apparently Tsuburaya Productions, the people behind "Ultraman" are closing down their old warehouse in Kinuta, Setagaya Ward, Tokyo where all of the old costumes and creatures for the show have been housed for the past 40 years. This "Monster Archive" as they call it, is bound for a new warehouse space in a secret location.

Pretty slim news item, but Corkill turns it in to a very funny tribute to our favorite saviour of planet Earth, Ultraman.
