Word from Twitchfilm.net today that in addition to director Shinji Higuchi and actor Jun Matsumoto none other than Anthony Daniels will be attending the April 27th North American premiere of Higuchi’s latest film, “Hidden Fortress: he Last Princess” at the USC School of Cinematic Arts in Los Angeles. Not such a strange thing as George Lucas famously used Akira Kurosawa’s original 1958 film as an inspiration for “Star Wars”. It would be interesting to have Matsumoto and Daniels on the same stage for the planned Q&A as each of them will have now played roles inspired by the two villagers (originally played by Minoru Chiaki and Kamatari Fujiwara) that get involved in the rescue of a princess while on the run from an enemy army. Now if they had Kenny Baker as well I’d be on a plane in a flash!
