Ghibli World is continuing with their running coverage of Hayao Miyazaki's next film "Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea" (formerly known in English as only "Ponyo on the Cliff"). This time out they have the news that Studio Ghibli's Toshio Suzuki has revealed the official release date for the film at a press conference held at Ghibli's main offices. Japanese audiences will be able to see the film when it premieres on July 19th! That is exactly three months after the full trailer for "Ponyo" is released... this coming Saturday, April 19th.
One thing that Suzuki said during the press conference will be a huge relief for us rabid Miyazaki fans. Suzuki was told by Miyzaki's wife that, "Miya-san will continue producing till his death. He can't live without making anime." So much for those continuous retirement rumours.
