Behind-the-scenes footage of “Detroit Metal City” at YouTube

by Chris MaGee

I haven’t seen this posted on any of the other blogs, so I thought I’d put a link up for it (YouTube isn’t providing any embed code for it… Grrrr!!!!)

We’ve all seen the promo pics of Kenichi Matsuyama and Gene Simmons in costume as Johannes Krauser II and “The Demon God of Rock ‘n’ Roll, but head on over to YouTube to get a look at some behind the scenes footage of the two filming concert footage for Toshio Lee’s big screen adaptation of Kiminori Wakasugi’s “Detroit Metal City”.

Gene looks right at home in his faux fur and ram’s horns, but I think that Matsuyama has to work on his rock ‘n’ roll attitude. What’s with all the polite bowing… and how about a little sneer when you stick your tongue out, Kenichi? A little scowl maybe? Ah, go trash a hotel room for some motivation already! Geez…
