New pop culture documentary “Tokyology”

Found this while I was poking around JapanProbe.com, an English language Japanese news website and it looked interesting, so I thought I’d throw it on the ol’ blog. The site has posted excerpts from a new documentary titled “Tokyology” that “guides you through the legendary crowds of Tokyo”. Hosted by singer, choreographer and former “In Living Colour” Fly Girl Carrie Ann Inaba the doc takes the form of your standard current events/ entertainment show, but when did ETalk Daily or Entertainment Tonight introduce us to an eclectic mix of pop culture types like anime fans at the annual Tokyo Anime Fair, clubbing goth girls, a rock band with their own TV show, artists who work with obsolete electronics?

Originally broadcast on BoingBoingTV it is now available for sale through the official “Tokyology” website and through Amazon.

Check out the trailer below, and the additional excerpt over at Japan Probe: http://www.japanprobe.com/?p=4483
