Tokyograph is reporting that the 8th GeGeGe no Kitaro big screen animated film, “Gegege no Kitaro: Nihon Bakuretsu!! (GeGeGe no Ktaro: Japan Explodes!!)” will make Japanese cinema history by having six separate versions of the film screen in six different regions of the country. While the basic plot of the film will remain the same locales will change according to region as well as characters appearance, for example Neko Musuma will appear as a geisha in Kinki, an Akihabara maid costume for the Kanto region, etc. Let’s be thankful that she won’t appear as one of those scary ganguro girls!
The film has been in production two years and upon its release at the end of this year it will mark the 40th anniversary of the “GeGeGe no Kitaro” animated television series.
