“Moyashimon”: A hypochondriac’s worst nightmare… or wet dream

I was doing my usual poke through the internet and I came across an unusual anime series that I thought everyone would be interested in. It’s called “Moyashimon: Tales of Agriculture” and it follows Tadayasu Sawaki, a freshman at a Japanese agricultural college who possesses the unique gift of being able to see and communicate with various bacteria, viruses and micro-organisms. Geez, the World Health Organization would be all over this guy!

Based on a manga by Masayuki Ishikawa that has run in Kodansha’s Evening magazine since 2004 the series that ran on Fuji TV between October and December of last year is pretty standard looking anime, but the title sequence was brilliant and has me wondering if anyone has explored the possibility of adapting “Moyashimon” to the big screen.
