"Satoshi Kon: The Illusionist" coming soon from Stonebridge Press

by Chris MaGee

Word from Anime News Network today about new title being released by California publisher Stonebridge Press: "Satoshi Kon: The Illusionist".

Stonebridge has an amazing track record of publishing Japanese Cinema related titles like Tom Mes and Jasper Sharp's "The Midnight Eye Guide to New Japanese Film" (an indispensible book around my house), Mark Schilling's "The Yakuza Movie Book" as well as titles dedicated to other anime institutions like Mobile Suit Gundam and Hayao Miyazaki. "

In "Satoshi Kon: The Illusionist" author Andrew Osmond takes us through Kon's relatively short, but astoundingly influential career as one of today's most important anime directors. Each of his films, "Perfect Blue" to "Paprika" are highlighted, as well as Kon's work in television with his series "Paranoia Agent". Set for release on August 1st it's now available for pre-order at Amazon. Check it out!
