Noisy Requiem - Yoshihiko Matsui (1988)
Former colleague of punk rock director Sogo Ishii, Yoshihiko Matsui delivered a postcard from hell with his shocking 1988 film "Noisy Requiem". Set in the rundown Kamagasaki district of Osaka Matsui shoots the story of Makoto, a crazed killer using gritty, guerilla tactics. Legendary avant-garde director Shuji Terayama said of "Noisy Requiem" "It would be a scandal if this script were actually to be made into a motion picture."
