Tatsuya Nakadai interviews care of New York's Film Forum and iTunes

by Bob Turnbull

New York's Film Forum is a "movie house for independent premieres and repertory programming" and is similar to many of the Cinematheques major North American cities have (if you look at the main page link above, they are currently screening Masaki Kobayashi's "The Human Condition" through to August). Along with these presentations of older films, they often have opening remarks and Q&As with the directors, actors or other members of the crew that participated in the making of the film on view that evening. Fortunately, they record these sessions and make them available to all as podcasts (also available off iTunes).

On June 20 of this year, after a screening of Kobayashi's "Harakiri", there was a 48 minute Q&A with star Tatsuya Nakadai.(complete with translator). There's also a 3 and a half minute interview about "Yojimbo" with Nakadai, but that doesn't seem to be in the archive listing (but is available off iTunes).

Though I haven't listened to either yet, the conversations are usually quite interesting and audience questions are of high quality. Happy listening!
