Saw this while I was surfing through Twitch this morning. Todd Brown had word that Miki Satoshi's new film "Adrift in Tokyo" starring Jo Odagiri had already been picked up by a North American distributor, and that the DVD was being released in Canada... ONLY Canada (!) "Why's this?" you ask. Well, it's all thank to a new DVD distributor on the block, Montreal's Evokative Films.
Just recently started up by Stéphanie Trépanier Evokative Film's goal is "to bring clever, entertaining and original international genre features to film enthusiasts across Canada," and they have to get major props for doing this using "environmentally friendly DVD packagings".
Besides "Adrift in Tokyo" they so far have one other film on their roster, Cedric Anger's French thriller "The Killer (Le Tueur)", but here's hoping that this is just the beginning.
Do yourself a favour and head over to their site here and check them out!
