"20th Century Boys" two sequels get a heroine: Haruka Kinami

by Chris MaGee

While I haven't seen Yukihiko Tsutsumi's latest film "20th Century Boys" yet a lot of folks online have, Todd Brown and Jason Gray being two of them, and so far people are for the most part impressed; so for those who have seen it and those who are dying to see it (me) here's a bit of news you might be interested in.

Television actress Haruka Kinami has landed the role of Kyoko, the niece of main character Kenji (Toshiaki Karasawa) and classmate of Kanna in the two upcoming sequels to the science fiction/ conspiracy theory manga adaptation. While she appeared briefly at the end of the first "20th Century Boys", which is now holding the number two spot at the Japanese box office, her character will apparently play a key role in the subsequent films by helping to unravel the mystery of the pseudo-religious "Friends" organization that is trying to take over the world.

Thanks to Tokyograph for the story.
