After School - Kenji Uchida (2008)
Director Kenji Uchida's second feature film, "After School" is a zany comedy about what can happen once we grow up. Yo Oizumi plays a high school teacher who hires a private detective (Kuranosuke Sasaki) to track down a friend from his school days who's gone missing. Along the way he meets and falls for a Japanese idol, played by Takako Tokiwa.
Pistol Opera - Seijun Suzuki (2001)
Seijun Suzuki's absolutely surreal remake/ sequel to his career-defining 1967 film "Branded to Kill stars Makiko Esumi as Stray Cat, the number three assassin who goes on a kaleidoscopic killing spree in an attempt to become the new number one assassin. Sayako Yamaguchi, Kirin Kiki, Masatoshi Nagase, Kenji Sawada and Mikijiro Hira, who replaced "Branded to Kill" star Jo Shishido, round out the cast.
