Geek alert! "Seven Samurai" action figures!

by Chris MaGee

Here are some action figures that will be nearly impossible to take out of their blister packs and play with. Come on, you collectors! You know you want to! While I might get all tied up in knots about the recent remake of Akira Kurosawa's "Seven Samurai" by "Samurai Fiction" director Hiroyuki Nakano I can't get angry about the above "Seven Samurai" action figures, in fact they're pretty damn cool!

Now this is probably not news to hardcore Japanese film memorabilia collectors out there. It looks like the website for Ameurasiart, the company that not only puts these out but also Zatoichi, Yojimbo and Lone Wolf and Cubs figures, hasn't been updated since 2005, but a quick look through eBay shows that there are still collectors buying this set as well as figurines of Kambei, Kikuchiyo and the other five samurai from Kurosawa's 1954 classic. They don't come cheap though. Figurines look like they're going for $12.00 US each and a full set of the fully articulated figures like the ones above go for $1,295.00 US.
