Based on the best-selling autobiographical novel by comedian Hiroshi Tamura “Homeless Chugakusei” chronicles his impoverished teen years when he was forced to live in a public park. Teppei Koike stars as the young Tamura.
Shara – Naomi Kawase (2003)
Set in Kawase’s hometown of Nara 2003’s “Shara” tells the story of the disappearance of twin boys during the annual Jizo Festival. Kawase uses documentary-style filmmaking to explore the lives of the remaining family.
