Word from Tokyograph today about "A Gentle Breeze in the Village" star Masaki Okada appearing in new coming-of-age film titled "Honokaa Boy". In the film Okada will play a college student who heads to Hawaii to get over breaking up with his girlfriend. While there he encounters various locals who help him put himself back together and ultimately grow into a man. Of course any coming-of-age film involving a young man has to have an older woman and in "Honokaa Boy" she comes in the form of Japanese model Jun Hasegawa who plays a woman born in Hawaii. Veteran actresses Keiko Matsuzaka (The Fall Guy, The Happiness of the Katakuris) and Chieko Baisho (the Tora-san films, The Hidden Blade) will round out the cast.
"Honokaa Boy" is set for a March 14th release date in Japan.
