Bloody Snake Under The Sun - Yu Nakai (2007)
Post-WW2 Okinawa. Under the presence of the American occupying forces two brothers, Gin (Mitsuki Koga) and Ryo (Shogen) make their living by running small time scams and smuggling contraband goods, but when their small operation gains the attention of the local yakuza the brothers have to fight to protect not only each other but their mother (Eri Ishida) and younger sister (Aoi Miyazaki) who run a small noodle restaurant.

An all-star cast, including Setuko Hara, Hideko Takamine, Akira Takarada, Tatsuya Nakadai, Reiko Dan and Ken Uehara, come together in this 1960 Mikio Naruse drama. Sanae Sakanishi (Hara) is widowed and inherits a sizable inheritence from her late husband, new found wealth that gains the attention of a young lover (Nakadai), but ultimately sends her life and the life of her family and sister (Takamine) into chaos.
