Osaka Hamlet - Fujio Mitsuishi (2009)

Japanese film veterans Keiko Matsuzaka and Ittoku Kishibe star in this live-action adaptation of Hiromi Morishita's manga "Osaka Hamlet", the story of Yukio (Naoyuki Morita), a teenager who's is having difficulty adjusting to his new step-father and seeks guidance and solace in the pages of Shakespeare's classic tragedy about the famed prince of Denmark.




Mothra vs. Godzilla - Ishiro Honda (1964)

After having gone on to helm such other Japanese kaiju and tokusatsu films as "Rodan! The Flying Monster", "The Mysterians", and "Matango: Attack of the Mushroom People" director Ishiro Honda returned to his most famous monster creation in 1964 by having Godzilla go up against Mothra. However cheesy this may look to our CGI-addled eyes "Mothra vs. Godzilla" was a huge hit in Japan, selling over 35. million tickets at the box office and spawning many more kaiju monster team up films.
