Halfway - Eriko Kitagawa (2009)

From the screenwriter of such romantic dramas as "Aishiteru to Itte Kue" and "Beautiful Life" and the production team of Shunji Iwai and Takeshi Kobayashi (All about Lily Chou-Chou, Swallowtail Butterfly) comes "Halfway". This love story revolving around the relationship between to high school students, Hiro (Kie Kitano) and Shuu (Masaki Okada) as they must face the realities of adulthood will be in Japanese theatres just in time for Valentine's Day.




Kaseki no Mori (The Petrified Forest) - Masahiro Shinoda (1973)

Based on a novel by Shintaro Ishihara, who also wrote "Season of the sun" the basis for Ko Nakahiro's "Crazed Fruit", "Kaseki no Mori (The Petrified Forest)" is a tale of youthful angst set in a university hospital. Haruo (Kenichi Hagiwara) plays a medical student who while trying to poison the his rival for the affections of his classmate Hideko he must also deal with his estranged mother, played by veteran actress Haruko Sugimura.
