With pinku eiga attaining previously undreamt of popularity in the past couple of years with major retrospectives of the softcore sex films taking place around the world and scholarly books like Jasper Sharp's "Behind the Pink Curtain" being published it's about ime that someone started poking fun at the genre, don't you think? Hideo Jojo certainly thinks so. The man who brought us the 2006 incestuous love story "Cream Lemon" and last year's send up of "Crows Zero", "Gachi-ban" has recently helmed a live-action adaptation of Taka Matsumoto's manga "Rinko Eighteen (18 Rin)". Originally running in Akita Shoten’s Young Champion Magazine "Rinko Eighteen (18 Rin)" follows the story of Rinko Ikeuchi, the daughter of wealthy parents who's on the fast track to enter medical school, but when her family falls on hard times Rinko is forced to take a job, any job, to make ends meet. When the handsome Sawakura shows up offering Rinko gainful employment she can't really say no, even after she realizes that it involves working as a production assistant in the world of hardcore adult videos.
Nippon Cinema has scored the trailer for "Rinko Eighteen (18 Rin)" with gravure model Sayaka Tashiro in the title role of Rinko and it looks pretty funny. And for those of you who are wondering, it is work safe, but watch out for that shot of fake semen. You've been warned...
"Rinko Eighteen (18 Rin)" is set for limited release in Japanese theatres on April 17th. You can check out more about the film at its official site here.
