In March the good news came down that Hayao Miyazaki's latest film "Ponyo on a Cliff by the Sea" would finally be seeing a North American theatrical release on August 14th. Now Quint over at Ain't It Cool has got the poster that will accompany the release. It's a varitation on the Japanese poster with Ponyo poking her head out from underneath an air bubble, but the title has changed. In the same way that Miyazaki's 2001 film "Sen to Chihiro no kamikakushi (The Spiriting Away of Sen and Chihiro)" was shortened to "Spirited Away" the title for this film has gone from "Gake no ue no Ponyo (Ponyo on a Cliff by the Sea)" to simply "Ponyo". Makes sense seeing that that's pretty much how most people I've spoken to up to this point have referred to it; but regardless of title I can't wait to see this one on the big screen this summer!
