In May we told you about how Miwa Nishikawa's "Dear Doctor" was hoping to have the same success that Yojiro Takita's "Departures" did at the Montreal World Film Festival in 2008. Takita's film took home top prize last year at the fest and just continued scooping up accolades until its historic win for Best Foreign language Film at this year's Oscars. Well, not it looks like Kichitaro Negishi's "Villon's Wife" will be competing with "Dear Doctor" for top prize at the fest. Word came this morning via Tokyograph that the screen adaptation of the Osamu Dazai story of a wife (Takako Matsu ) dealing with her alcoholic writer husband (Tadanobu Asano) will be another of the films in competition at the 33rd offering of the Montreal fest.
