Isao Yukisada, the man who brought us such films as "Go" and "Crying Out Love at the Center of the World" brings us his dream project in 2010. Based on Shuichi Yoshida's novel, Yukisada's upcoming film "Parade" tells the story of a group of 20-somethings living together in a cramped 2LDK apartment (two bedrooms, living room, dining room, and kitchen) in Tokyo whose lives are shaken up after taking in a new tenant. "Parade" starring Tatsuya Fujiwara is set for release in February.
A Pool Without Water - Koji Wakamatsu (1982)
Not your standard Koji Wakamatsu film, 1982's "A Pool Without Water" doesn't dwell on social or political politics as much as his previous films. Instead it focuses on the unlikely relationship between a male ticket taker and a young female rape victim he befriends. Suffice to say that even though it doesn't push into revolutionary territory this is still a Wakamatsu film. Strangeness abounds... and this trailer is NOT WORK SAFE. Beware!
