Acacia - Jinsei Tsuji (2010)

Former pro wrestler and Japanese legislator Antonio Inoki stars as... well, a former pro wrestler who has shrugged off his ring persona as the mighty Daimajin. Now living enjoying a quiet retirement he begins a friendship with a shy, troubled boy (Ryoga Hayashi). "Acacia" is set for a Japanese theatrical release in June.

Dream of the Red Chamber - Tetsuji Takechi (1964)

Released in Japan just two months after his genre-defining pink film "Daydream" Tetsuji Takechi's 1964 film "Dreams of the Red Chamber" took inspiration for its hallucinatory journey of drink and sex from the writings of Junichiro Tanizaki. The film suffered severe cuts by Japanese censors before it was allowed in theatres.
