Yumi Unita's manga "Bunny Drop" come to the big screen

by Chris MaGee

News of yet another manga adaptation this week. Anime News Network is reporting that Yumi Unita's long running manga "Bunny Drop" is making it's way to the big screen in a live-action adaptation.

"Bunny Drop" has been appearing in Feel Young Magazine since 2005 and tells the story of 30-year-old Daikichi who after returning from his grandfather's funeral discovers that the old man has left him one last parting gift. Standing in the middle of Daikichi's back yard is a 6-year-old girl, his grandfather's illegitamite child named Rin. The manga goes on to chronicle what being an instant father means to Daikichi and to Rin.

Right now there are no specific details on the production of a "Bunny Drop" film besides that it's been green-lit. No cast, no directors, and no release date and we're left to speculate whether this will end up being a cutesy heartwarming father daughter story or something more realistic and dramatic. we'll keep our eyes and ears open to see which it is.
