“From Hanga to Manga” exhibit opening in Toronto

Here’s an exhibit that’s opening on Saturday that fans of anime, Japanese cinema, and Japanese culture and history in general might appreciate, plus it’s free!

“From Hanga to Manga: The Graphic Art of Japanese Storytelling” explores the pictorial narrative tradition in Japan through the use of hanga (woodblock prints), manga, and rare book illustrations. Presented by the Toronto Public Library the exhibit runs from April 19th to June 28th at the TD Gallery in The Toronto Reference Library (789 Yonge Street).
