More than Guilala for Minoru Kawasaki

Everyone online (myself included) has been getting all excited about Minoru Kawasaki’s upcoming take on kaiju monster movies “Guilala Strikes Back: Toyako Summit Crisis”, but leave it up to the folks at Nippon Cinema to bring our attention to another Kawasaki project that’s much closer on the horizon.

On May 31st Japanese audiences will get a chance to see “Kamigakari”, a comedy about how a new hairstyle can really change your life. Mari Natsuki stars as a hairstylist whose clients fall asleep in her chair only to wake up with wild and wonderful new hairdos that have a mysterious positive influence on their lives. Seeing that this is a Kawasaki film I can only guess what these hairdos will look like… Bouffants? Pompadours? Mohawks? Probably something crazier, but we’ll have to wish for a North American DVD release before we can find out.
