News from Marc Walkow and Outcast Cinema that Japanese record label Rock Chipper Records has released soundtrack compilations from classic, obscure Nikkatsu action films. Currently only available in Japan these CD’s include what’s being called “The Star Series”, music taken from the films of Akira Kobayashi, Keiichiro Akagi, and Jo Shishido. They’re retailing for ¥3,000 a pop, so no telling how expensive an import copy would cost, but still… This is a Japanese film geek’s wet dream!
