Here’s an update on the story we ran earlier on Takashi Miike’s new series “Keitai sosakan (Cell Phone Detectives)”. Turns out the series is a tie-in with Softbank’s 815T PB Toshiba cell phone… or the cell phone is a tie-in with the series. Either/ or, but the cell phones sporting arms and legs are no joke. If you live in Japan you can pick up one of these April 2nd, the same day that the series premieres.
The Japan Times reported that this new cell phone also displays faces “according to their moods, and send text messages to you to reveal their innermost thoughts.” Cell phones have thoughts? I know they plot against me financially, especially when my phone bill comes every month, but “innermost thoughts”? Who knew?
