News has been popping up all over the net about a new action heroine who from the sounds of it could easily go toe to toe with Lady Snowblood, Azumi, or Female Convict Scorpion. “Hard Revenge Milly” will vault us into a near future Japan where gun control laws have been abolished leaving the criminals to take over the streets. Nowhere is harder hit than in Yokohama which honest citizens avoid like the plague. The north end of the city has been taken over by a vicious gang called The Jack Brothers and it’s these thugs that Milly targets, seeking revenge for her husband and daughter who were murdered by the gang.
The film will be directed by Takanori Tsujimoto and will star Miki Mizuno as Milly. Mizuno has already taken a crack at action films starring as Sasori in Hong Kong director Joe Ma’s 2007 remake of “Female Convict Scorpion”. “Hard Revenge Milly” hits Japanese Theatres in August.
