Kenichi Matsuyama honoured as the #1 actor

Kenichi Matsuyama has won the favorite actor award at the 1^st annual Eigakan Taisho (Movie Theatre Award). The newly created award that has fans vote for their favorite film actors and actresses were held this past Saturday, May 17^th and star of the “Death Note” films beat put such other popular stars as Joe Odagiri and Shun Oguri to take the top prize. As part of the award a retrospective series of Matsuyama’s films "YAMATO," "Hito no Sex wo Warau na," "Tsubaki Sanjuro," "NANA," and "Linda Linda Linda" will take place at the Polepole Higashinakano Theatre in Tokyo. Not a bad list of films on this young actor’s resumé, huh?

Matsuyama can be seen next in the Toshio Li big screen managa adaptation “Detroit Metal City”.
