Fresh off being named one of the 100 most influential people by Time magazine and having his heroically ejaclating sculpture "My Lonesome Cowboy" sell at auction for $15,161,000 artist, animator and design guru Takashi Murakami will be screening his animated short film "Planting the Seeds" Tomorrow, June 16th, as part of an art installation of his work at the CineVegas Film Festival in Las Vegas Nevada. The film, the first of a planned series, centers around Kaikai and Kiki the mascots for Murakami's own arts management company and collective also called Kaikai Kiki.
The image above comes from "Planting the Seeds", but I thought I would share another piece of Murakami directed animation below, this one called "Superflat Monogram" that was created for a Louis Vuitton ad campaign back in 2003, and I think ingeniously combines Murakami's key imagery with a classic Alice in Wonderland story.
