The Annecy International Animated Film Festival, one of the most respected animation festivals in the world, wrapped up in France on Saturday and Japan topped the awards. 31 year-old animator Kunio Kato’s film “Tsumiki no Ie”, or “La maison en petits cubes” in French won the Annecy Cristal, the highest honour at the fest. The 12 minute film tells the story of an old man’s struggle to keep his house of blocks from drowning in an endless sea.
Congratulations to Kato-san and the rest of the winners!
