I’ve never quite gotten Tatsuya Fujiwara. That’s not to mean that he’s not a capable actor, but his pin-up status confuses me. He’s got that kind of doughy, androgynous look that I just find kind of creepy and some of his hairstyle choices have been just god awful. Suffice to say then that I was a bit taken aback by a news story posted over at Kaiju Shakedown about the “Battle Royale” and “Death Note” star releasing a nude photo book! And apparently it isn’t the first one!
Now it’s not that uncommon for stars in Japan to release nude photo books, but mostly they’re of actresses trying to grab a bit of the leering media spotlight. The most famous example of this was the furor that followed the 1991 release of Rie Miyazawa’s (Tony Takitani, Hana) book “Santa Fe” that featured full frontal nude shots of the then 18 year-old star.
But back to Tatsuya… Apparently he released a book titled “No Control” (which you can see above) back in the fall of 2007 that featured the star in the buff and now a new book of photos is in the offing and it looks like Fujiwara still doesn’t have any control because his clothes have fallen off again! What’s really disturbing is that this time around the photos (taken by Kishin Shinoyama, the same photographer who shot Rie Miyazawa for “Santa Fe”) will feature Fujiwara’s “climax face”. Yeah, I know…
