It looks like that besides working on his upcoming children’s film “Paco and the Magical Picture Book” director Tetsuya Nakashima had some free time to pen the script for the film adaptation of Hideo Okuda’s novel “Lala Pipo”. Dealing with sexual underbelly of contemporary Japan the book is described by its North American publisher, Vertical, as being “like an episode of ‘Seinfeld’ directed by Bob Guccione”. I hope Newman isn’t having sex in that equation…
Nakashima’s script will be helmed by first time feature director Masayuki Miyano and will star former pop idol Yuri Nakamura (above) as an office lady who is lured into life as a porn star by the promise of easy money. Apparently it’s already finished shooting, but “Lala Pipo” isn’t scheduled for release until 2009.
