Then Summer Came - Ryo Iwamatsu (2008)

Written and directed by respected playwright Ruo Iwamatsu "Then Summer Came" gives us a chance to laugh at the culture gap between a father and son. When a gruff father (Yoshio Harada) finally sees to the opportunity to marry off his meek, nerdy son (Jo Odagiri) their bickering relationship nearly derails the entire wedding.




Gemini - Shinya Tsukamoto (1999)

Shinya Tsukamoto adapts Edogawa Rampo in his 1999 film "Gemini". During the Meiji era a talented young doctor lives with his parents and his amnesiac wife in luxury and comfort, but when the mysterious almost animalistic double of the doctor invades from the plague ridden village nearby the doctor must not only fight to find out who this man is but also for his own identity.
