Well, all the entries came in and everyone had their specific Japanese cinema related dreams, but in the end there could be only four... and here they are! The winners of a "Long Dream" DVD care of Bone House Asia, the new genre wing of Tidepoint Pictures:
Ben Dower of Toronto: "My biggest Japanese film related dream would have to getting to have a good long chat with Sion Sono about all his filmmaking techniques: where his ideas come from, where he gets his funding, what equipment he uses, how he built his career...I want to know everything and anything I can learn from him about filmmaking because he's my favourite director and I want to be able to make my own films with the same freedom he has."
Dan Gosse of Toronto: "The DVD release of "To The End of the Silver Mountains (aka: Ginrei no hate; aka: Snow Trail; aka: Three Villains of the Mountain Hut; aka: To the End of the Snow-Capped Mountains) directed by Senkichi Taniguchi. Released 1947. Written by Akira Kurosawa and starring Toshirô Mifune and Takashi Shimura."
Christopher Brown of Toronto: "My Japanese movie dream would be that they start pumping out the Godzilla movies again and show Clovefield a thing or two (though I loved Cloverfield as well). That and Survive Style +5 getting a special edition North American release."
Dave Constable of Toronto: "My dream would be to spend a few weeks on set with Takeshi Miike as he directs a film (he is my favourite Japanese director, and I was lucky enough to have dinner with him once at TIFF)."
Congrats Guys! And thank you to everyone who entered!
