Viz Pictures has slowly but surely been trying to get Japanese cinema off the video store shelves and onto movie screens by coordinating single night North American theatrical runs of animated and live-action films from their extensive catalogue. Their last release of Shūsuke Kaneko's "Death Note" did great box office during its single night runs in the U.S. and Canada and now Viz has announced its next theatrical release: "Bleach: The Movie (Memories of Nobody)", the first big screen adaptation of the successful anime/ manga directed by Noriyuki Abe will be screened in select Cineplex Entertainment and Empire Theatres across Canada on October 20th.

Thanks to Anime News Newtwork for the heads up on this.
