Official English language site dedicated to Ishiro Honda goes live

by Chris MaGee

I seem to have become more and more interested in kaiju monster films lately, so this story fits in quite nicely with my new found appreciation with men dressed in rubber suits. SciFi Japan has reported that a new English language website dedicated to the life and work of Ishihiro Honda has gone live. Of course Honda is the man responsible for creating not only the King of All Monsters, Godzilla, but also Mothra, Rodan, Gorath, The Mysterians and others. This new site is actually an English language version of the official Japanese website that was created by Honda's widow Kimi and son Ryuji last year. With help from a group of Honda collaborators, friends and fans they brought together a wealth on information about the director who passed away in 1993 at the age of 82. Now all of us nearly Japanese illiterates have a chance to fully explore the man's life and work. Check out IshiroHonda.org here.
