We've talked about the upcoming animated feature about the life of 17th-century samurai and author of the famed "Book of Five Rings," Musashi Miyamoto a couple of times now (read original reports here and here) mainly because none other than Mamoru Oshii has written its script. Now according to a report posted at Anime News Network the PR machine for the film due out this summer is starting to grind into action. 1,000 advance tickets for "Miyamoto Musashi: Sōken ni Haseru Yume (Musashi: The Dream of the Last Samurai)" were given out at the Comic Market 75 convention in Tokyo in December and they came with a pretty good souvenir: a metal replica of the tsube or sword hilt from Miyamoto's original sword complete with an engraved waves and moon motif. I can only assume that rabid collectors will be compulsively surfing eBay for this collectible.
