Imagine a luscious grilled steak that won't break the bank with Air Yakiniku

by Chris MaGee

I remember one of the old Blues Brothers performances on Saturday Night Live where the boys break things down for one of Elwood's spoken word segments to the audience. With the band backing him up with a strong beat he told everyone about how to make a "wish sandwich": you get two pieces of bread, slap 'em together and bite into it wishing that there was something between 'em. Well, that same logic applies to Air Yakiniku, a new web-based alternative to grilling up your favorite cut of meat to go along with your daily bowl of rice. Apparently you're supposed to site down, shovel your rice into your mouth and imagine the smokey, juicy goodness of a freshly grilled piece of meat. I can't really see this being a good source of protein, and I seriously doubt this is anything more than a joke, but with everyone feeling the pinch of the current economic downturn it's definitely a timely joke.

So steam your rice, maybe mix up a bowl of miso and click here for a little yakiniku in your own living room. Just remember not to drool on your keyboard... Thanks to Asiajin by way of Japan Probe for this goof of the day.
