Ryuichi Sakamoto enters the 21st-century with Twitter and YouTube

He's composed scores for such films as "Tony Takitani", "Appleseed", "Gohatto", Tokyo Decadence" and of course "Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence" in which he also starred, but now you can keep track of every little step of Ryuichi Sakamoto's career through his very own Twitter feed. You might not get the skinny on what it was like to work opposite David Bowie, but you can get continuous updates on what the 57-year-old composer had for dinner or how sound checks went on his latest tour. If that didn't already constitute too much information you can also check out videos of Sakamoto farting around with bulletin board magnets backstage at one of his concerts via his newly set up YouTube channel. Makes me wonder if the line between social networking and navel gazing has been permanently erased...
