"Sleepy Eyes of Death" Box Set to be Released on Region 1 DVD

To follow up the good news from yesterday that the Criterion Collection will be releasing Masaki Kobayashi's mammoth epic "The Human Condition" on July 14th, Wildgrounds reports that a box set containing four entries in the Nemuri Kyoshiro samurai series will hit North American stores on the same date. All starring Raizô Ichikawa, the episodes in the set are "The Chinese Jade," "Sword of Adventure," "Full Circle Killing" and "Sword of Seduction." The expected extras include audio commentaries by film scholar Ric Meyers and martial arts expert Jeff Rovin, program notes, trailers and a collector's booklet.
