Back in March we reported on how a life-sized scale model of an RX-78-2 Gundam from the "Mobile Suit Gundam" animated series was being erected on Tokyo's Odaiba island to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Mitsuteru Yokoyama's iconic tale of a futuristic war waged using humanoid mobile suits. Okay, the 15-metre (49-foot) tall, 50-ton statue would be life-sized if there were in fact giant humanoid mobile suits in real life, but regardless, the statue, which is set to be completed by July 23rd, is now at the halfway mark and Danny Choo has got a full gallery of pics of this massive project from the waist down. You can check them out here.
