Asian Cinema comes to Texas with the 8th Annual Asian Film Festival of Dallas

by Chris MaGee

I've had myself running around like a spastic chicken getting ready for the Shinsedai Cinema Festival coming up here in Toronto in August, so I nearly missed reporting on another great Asian film festival taking place south of the border next week. The 8th Annual Asian Film Festival of Dallas is set to bring some of the biggest Asian films to the cities Magnolia Theatre from July 17th to 23rd. The fest programmers have pulled together quite the line-up, and Japanese film fans will definitely not be disappointed. Fumihiko Sori's "Ichi", Shimako Sato's "K-20: Legend of the Mask", Yoji Yamada's "Kabei: Our Mother", Katsuhiro Otomo's "Mushishi", Minoru Kawasaki's "Neko Ramen Taisho (Pussy Soup)", and Kurando Mitsutake's "Samurai Avenger: The Blind Wolf" are all included in this year's fest.

For additional info on the Asian Film Festival of Dallas check out their official site here. Thanks to Sci Fi Japan for poking me with a stick about this story.
