Okay, I wouldn't really call the J-Film Pow-Wow a bunch of upstarts, but when we manage to squeeze into a picture of the the tour of Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko to Canada, well... That's a pretty darn big deal for a group of film bloggers. The above pic was taken on Thursday night at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre here in Toronto. The JCCC is hosting The Shinsedai Cinema Festival and the handsome silver-haired fella in the far left of the photo is James Heron, the Executive Director of both the JCCC and The Shinsedai Fest. As Their Majesties entered to greet the assembled guest for an invite only reception (which I happened to be invited to - yikes!) a Reuters photographer snapped this shot and what happens to be in the background? A poster for The Shinsedai Cinema Festival! Now that's product placement!
